As obligate carnivores, cat’s need to consume a high protein diet. Natural prey for these exceptional hunters is primarily rodents and birds, which also supply most of the fluid required by cats, who don’t usually drink a lot of water because of this. Raw food typically has a moisture content of around 75%, dry food is at around 10%.
